How long
One hour, once a week, at a time that suits you.
How much

First class $30 for 30 minutes.

Ideally, I would love to tutor two people — two best friends, wife with her significant one.

$50 an hour, second person at 50% off — $75 for two (second person 50% off).

How Lessons Work

Each lesson is built around a topic — the airport, the market, your family — but conversation comes first. All ages, all levels, absolute beginners very welcome.

  1. One

    We sit down and talk

Mostly conversation, at whatever pace suits you. I'll do the worrying about grammar.

  2. Two

    I bring the material

Lessons I wrote myself, on the topic we've chosen. Yours to keep and print.

  3. Three

A few lines before next time

I correct them gently — mistakes are how it works.

More about how I teach

A little about me

“You will speak Italian in your very first hour with me — and you can improve a little each week.”

I have taught Italian here in Kenosha for many years — to travelers who want to order a coffee properly in Rome, and to students who stay with me long enough to read novels.

I write my own lessons, because I was never quite happy with the textbooks. Local businesses sponsor the back page, so the material costs you nothing to print.

Bring your curiosity; I'll bring the Italian.
